Chicago May 23, 2017 - re:work training, a nonprofit that provides sales training and job placement, announced today that Ryan Barretto, SVP of Global Sales for Sprout Social, will join its Board of Directors.
Prior to his position at Sprout Social, Barretto was VP of Global Sales at Pardot, a Salesforce company. He led a team that tripled revenue growth in two years, making Pardot one of Salesforce's fastest growing businesses. During Barretto’s 10+ year career at Salesforce, he served in a variety of sales leadership roles helping build offices and teams in Canada and the US as the company grew from $180m to $7.5B+.
“Ryan not only brings experience to re:work that is valuable for our growth, but he’s also built his career on hard work and intelligence, rather than relying strictly on his network to find success,” said Harrison Horan, CEO and Founder of re:work training. “He embodies the very things we expect from our candidates.”
re:work completed its pilot program last fall and recently concluded its second cohort, through which 100 percent of the candidates received job offers. It’s also seen a 75 percent increase in applicants between its second and third cohort, which starts on May 27th. Entering the summer cohort, re:work will increase class sizes and frequency, with the goal of creating a higher number of lucrative, long-lasting careers for underserved Chicagoans.
“I feel fortunate to have landed and grown a career in technology sales," said Barretto. "My path was paved by the guidance and mentorship of amazing leaders at amazing companies. I have been inspired by the contributions that re:work is making to our future technology sales professionals, who otherwise wouldn't have been afforded the opportunity.
Most leading technology companies are focused on improving diversity and inclusion in their workforce, but most don't have the candidate pools to support their goals. This is precisely why re:work is so important, to both our communities and companies, and why I am humbled to be on their team.”
“We now know that the model works,” Horan added. “Ryan’s skill will be key to run the program more effectively and bring the model to more people who deserve opportunity.”
