The program at a glance

The Go To Market Career Academy teaches you to run your job search like a business of one: research your market, communicate your value, build trusted relationships, and follow through. It is one free Academy with two ways to participate. MissionXP organizes the lessons, missions, relationship activity, and job-search pipeline.

  • Self-paced: Start today in MissionXP, work through the Academy at your own pace, and get support from the community.
  • Quarterly cohort: Express interest in an eight-week re:WORK cohort with structured instruction, coaching, and peer learning. Cohorts start once per quarter; staff confirm placement and session details.
  • Cost to participants: Free.
  • Learning materials: 33 modules, 61 videos totaling approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, seven required missions, and four course guides.
  • Skills you can transfer: Practice the research, outreach, communication, and follow-through used by BDRs and SDRs in your own job search. Many participants pursue sales roles; these skills also support other career paths.
  • Preparation: A willingness to learn, respond to feedback, contribute to the community, and complete the work. No degree or prior sales experience is required to apply.

You can start the self-paced Academy in MissionXP or express interest in a quarterly cohort. Self-paced learners may be considered for a cohort based on their commitment to the process; placement is confirmed by the re:WORK team.

What you are working toward

  • Translate your previous experience into a clear LinkedIn profile, credible resume, and specific interview stories.
  • Research employers and professional contacts with a clear reason for choosing them.
  • Write relevant outreach, run useful informational interviews, and follow through on commitments.
  • Manage relationships and job opportunities with accurate CRM records in MissionXP.
  • Use discovery and MEDDPICC to understand business needs and how a hiring decision will be made.
  • Explain your work with evidence and agree on an appropriate next step.

You first practice business development through the re:WORK community, then apply the process to your own employer targets. Throughout the program, connect the skills to the role you want to perform.

Pacing and participation

At your own pace

Begin in MissionXP today and build a routine that fits your schedule. Self-paced learning is not tied to the eight-week cohort calendar. Use the community for support, work through the lessons, and complete the missions and activity checkpoints.

With a quarterly cohort

Plan to remain active throughout the eight-week cohort, with structured instruction, assignments, coaching, peer learning, and career-campaign execution. Cohorts start once per quarter. Staff confirm placement, live-session dates, deadlines, and scheduling expectations during orientation.

Video time is only one part of the commitment. Set aside time for research, writing, revisions, outreach, professional conversations, and follow-up. The curriculum’s kickoff and eight gates are learning checkpoints; MissionXP unlocks later content as the required lessons, missions, and activity are completed.

  • Study the assigned lessons and prepare the related work.
  • Stay connected to the community and ask for support when you need it. If you join a cohort, participate in its scheduled activities.
  • Complete missions, read the feedback, and revise your work.
  • Keep contacts, conversations, applications, and next actions current in MissionXP.
  • Apply to suitable open roles while building relevant professional relationships.

Tools and course materials

You will use a MissionXP account, LinkedIn, internet access, a calendar, and a device that can play video, take screenshots, record a clear spoken response, and export a resume as a PDF. An AI writing tool is optional; you remain responsible for the accuracy and quality of your work.

  • Sales at the Interview study guide: Prepare your research, stories, and questions.
  • Outreach Writing Guide: Practice relevant connection notes, substantive comments, and clear outreach.
  • Be Your Own BDR playbook: Connect relationship building, research, activity tracking, and your career campaign.
  • Resume Revision and Tailoring Guide: Revise and tailor a draft with accurate accomplishments and role-relevant language.

The guides and assigned lessons are available in the Academy. Explore the complete curriculum for every module and video title.

Seven missions. Visible proof of your work.

The seven missions below are the required assessed submissions. Complete the instructions shown in MissionXP for each mission. Connection notes and LinkedIn comments are the two assessed outreach skills; cold-email writing is optional practice. The final gate contains two closing videos and no separate final mission.

Join the Community. Start Building Trust.

Join the Academy LinkedIn group using your real professional identity. This mission checks group membership or a pending request. You will improve and submit your LinkedIn profile later in Gate 1.

Submit: A readable screenshot showing the correct group and membership or a pending request.

Mission: Research the Role You Want

Research active BDR or SDR postings from eight different companies. Extract one distinct responsibility from each.

Submit: One document with eight distinct bullets, each attributed to its source company.

Mission: Prove It with a STAR Story

Tell a true story about a task you could not initially complete because you lacked skills or information. Use Situation, Task, Action, and Result.

Submit: A focused video response, aiming for one to two minutes, with clear audio and your own actions, outcome, and learning.

Mission: Put Your Positioning to Work

Publish a profile that connects your background to your career direction.

Submit: Readable screenshots showing a clear photo, a value-focused headline, and the complete About section.

Mission: Earn the Connection

Use the provided practice scenario to write a specific, natural connection request without a premature favor or job ask.

Submit: A text note of 300 characters or fewer, including spaces.

Mission: Add Value in the Comments

Respond to the provided practice post with a concrete contribution, relevant experience, or thoughtful question.

Submit: A focused comment, usually one to three sentences. A public post is not required.

Mission: Submit Proof of Your Value

Tailor your resume to your target go-to-market role and support your accomplishments with truthful evidence.

Submit: A readable, single-column PDF, one to two pages, with complete contact information and claims you can explain.

Feedback, revisions, and assessment

Missions use a passing score of 70. Read the feedback, identify the weakest part of the work, and revise when it does not yet meet the requirements. Repeated unsuccessful attempts are flagged for coach review.

The goal is to communicate your real experience clearly. Use specific actions, truthful numbers, and examples you can explain. A polished answer with invented evidence does not meet the standard.

Complete the required lessons as well as the missions. The current video lessons do not include a separate set of quiz questions. Progress also depends on the activity requirements below.

How progress and completion work

Complete the required modules in the preceding stage before moving forward. Entry into Gate 0 through Gate 3 is based on that completion. Later gates also require recorded activity:

Additional activity requirements for entering later gates
EnterRecorded activity required
Gate 450 contacts; 100 touches; 10 accepted connections; 3 informational interviews; 3 thank-yous; 1 champion; activity on 7 distinct days since Gate 3 unlocked.
Gate 575 contacts; 250 touches; 5 jobs recorded at applied or a later stage.
Gate 690 contacts; 300 touches; 6 jobs recorded at applied or a later stage.
Gate 7105 contacts; 350 touches; 7 jobs recorded at applied or a later stage.

These are cumulative checkpoints, not new weekly quotas. They govern access to course content, not permission to apply for jobs. Apply to suitable open roles while researching and building relationships in parallel; an internal contact or champion is not a prerequisite to apply. The seven-day requirement specifically counts distinct days with activity after Gate 3 unlocks. Contacts, touches, accepted connections, informational interviews, thank-yous, and champions are different measures. Record what actually happened in the appropriate place.

Complete the lessons, pass the seven required missions, and meet the activity requirements needed to progress through the final gate. The same course sequence, seven assessed missions, and activity checkpoints apply to both formats. Cohort learners also follow the participation expectations and deadlines communicated by staff. An offer or referral is not an automatic result of course completion.

A practical weekly routine

  • Prepare: Study the next lessons, research relevant people and companies, and plan your work.
  • Contribute: Engage with a real idea before making a request. Write specific outreach with one clear purpose.
  • Converse: Prepare useful questions, listen carefully, and capture the insights you can act on.
  • Follow through: Send a thoughtful thank-you promptly and complete the commitments you made.
  • Review: Log activity, update your pipeline, and choose one part of your approach to improve.

How we build trust

  • Represent yourself and re:WORK honestly. Keep community and volunteer invitations focused on their stated purpose.
  • When you want career help, explain that purpose openly and make an appropriate request. Respect a no.
  • Ask permission before quoting, tagging, recording, or using someone’s name as a referral.
  • Use AI to organize or improve your own ideas. Check facts and remove invented accomplishments, numbers, or relationships.
  • Keep activity records accurate and protect other people’s personal information.
  • Bring company-level partnership or sponsorship interest to program staff.

For the program’s broader community expectations, review the Community Standards and Acceptable Use Policy.

Support and next steps

Self-paced learners receive community support and can use the Academy’s mission feedback to improve their work. Cohort learners also participate in scheduled instruction, coaching, and peer learning. Staff communicate live-session details and coach availability for each cohort.

Both options give you access to the Academy in MissionXP and a professional community. Participants remain responsible for completing the work and pursuing opportunities. Employment outcomes depend on the participant, employer, and market.
