What we learned from Zscaler sales leaders in 2024
Historical partner story, updated September 2026. This article records advice shared with the re:WORK community around a 2024 Zscaler Sales Kick-Off. It describes that moment and does not imply a current partnership or endorsement.
re:WORK TRAINING was invited to learn from sales leaders at Zscaler. Their perspectives reinforced themes that still matter for people entering tech sales and building professional relationships: preparation, curiosity, credibility, and follow-through.
Build a network before you need a favor
Professional relationships are strongest when based on useful conversation and trust. Learn about the other person’s work, share your direction, and keep commitments. A contact list alone is not social capital.
Learn the customer’s problem
Strong sales conversations start by understanding the customer’s context. Ask questions and listen before proposing an answer. In a job search, understand an employer’s needs before claiming fit.
Negotiate with information
When discussing a role or offer, learn the scope, expectations, compensation structure, and support available. Ask for the time and details needed to make an informed decision.
Put it into practice: Identify one professional relationship you can strengthen this month through a specific, useful conversation.
