OUR MISSION / RE:WORK TRAINING

Talent is everywhere.
Social capital is not.

Your ability deserves a chance to be seen.

re:WORK TRAINING is a Chicago-based workforce development nonprofit. Through free career training and community support, we help people build skills and social capital—the trusted relationships that connect ability with opportunity.

Opportunity grows through people, practice, and participation.

THE MISSION THAT GUIDES US

Building the future of workforce development through the power of sales.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Your starting point
should not define
your future.

Talent and ambition are widely distributed. Access to professional networks is not.

An introduction, useful feedback, or a conversation with someone in the industry can help a person’s ability be seen. People who start with fewer professional connections deserve access to those opportunities, too.

We help participants build relationships through useful work, thoughtful conversations, and follow-through. Our community of professionals contributes knowledge, feedback, and connections. Expanding opportunity takes effort from both sides.

SOCIAL CAPITAL MEETS SALES STRATEGY

Make ability visible.
Build trust over time.

Sales gives us a practical method for communicating value, understanding another person’s needs, and moving a relationship forward.

  1. Practice the skills.

Research employers. Explain your value. Ask better questions. Prepare for conversations and make your next step clear.

  2. Show what you can do.

Turn learning into work others can review. Use feedback, improve your approach, and build evidence of your ability.

  3. Earn trust through action.

Contribute to your community, listen carefully, and follow through. Give people a reason to know and trust your work.

Our Social Capital Model connects performance currency—evidence of what you can do—with relationship currency—trust built with people who know your work. The purpose is economic mobility: greater access to opportunity and career advancement.

THE MISSION IN PRACTICE

A business of one.
A community
behind you.

The Go To Market Career Academy teaches people to run their job search with the discipline of a business: understand their market, communicate their value, build relationships, and manage opportunities.

Participants learn to act as their own business or sales development representative—often called a BDR or SDR. These methods help many pursue sales roles and can also transfer to other career paths.

Start the free, self-paced Academy in MissionXP with community support, or explore a quarterly cohort.

These are conservative thresholds: historical records are incomplete and identity matching is still being refined. They are not a placement rate or a guarantee of individual results.
